[ Homura had asked Feferi to show up at her (pretty weird and empty) house rather than somewhere out in town; whatever strange sort of goodbye party this is, she had made a promise, and she would keep it. Her living room is white, covered in newspaper clippings, handwritten notes, and pages torn out of books, and has a few concentric circles worth of couches. It also recently gained a scratching post and a collection of brightly colored toys.

So here she is, picking up a small black kitten who had until two seconds ago been viciously murdering a stuffed mouse. ]

[ half an hour on Google had helped Homura make a plan; she had chosen an Okinawan beach, on one of the smaller islands with rare visitors, southern enough to be warm even in April. Homura's carrying a cooler with snacks because it's important to be a good host when you're hanging out with alien princesses (you will not find this in any etiquette manual but it is the truth). ]

Kaname-san and Tomoe-san say that something big is coming. They say that they can definitely handle it together, and I don't need to rush into making a contract, but I really do want to help...

I've been taking notes on the witches they've met so far. They're letting me come along, so it's the least I can do, isn't it? Maybe that way, they'll know better what to expect.

Besides that, though... it's been a lot of fun, being with them. Really, really fun. Sometimes on the way home from school we stop at a bakery or a cafe, and Kaname-san gets so excited when she points out her favorite cakes, or things she thinks I might like... I'm really, really glad I met them both.
