[ Homura nestles her cell phone in the crook of her shoulder, walking to the kitchen. It seems that he wants to meet in person this time. Anything important that Castiel wanted to tell her would be very important indeed; besides, she liked Castiel, and wouldn't mind having company. She turns on her electric kettle, wondering what kind of tea Americans drink. (Not that he was American, or anything earthly, really, but if he was going to wear an American body, she should be polite and accommodate it. ) ]

...If that's the case, you can stop by. I'll be here all afternoon.

[ almost as soon as the words are out of Homura's mouth, she'll hear the quiet whoosh of air behind her that signifies the arrival of an angel. Cas didn't want to waste time; this was the first real lull he'd had since he'd effectively declared all-out war against an Archangel, and there were a few people he wanted to fill in. the ones he knew he could trust to keep the information and not to get involved unless he said so.

it's only when he's actually standing in her kitchen, his phone still clutched in hand, that it occurs to him showing up immediately after she said yes was probably considered rude. oops. ]

Hello. [ beat. ] Was this too early?

[ she feels the rush of air and immediately her soul gem is in her hand, and she's pulling out a pistol--

[ that's a reaction he hasn't got in a while. he really should think these things through. ]

[ he nods. ] More often than anywhere else, yes. I gather coffee is generally more popular there.

[ yeah good point. she puts a couple of teabags into cups, then pauses ]

I don't need it to live, but I'm able to.

Okay. [ she dispenses water into the cups, and goes to the living room, expecting him to follow her. She sits down on one of those circular couches she loves so much, placing both cups on the table ]

I did. ...This may take a while, but I'll try and be brief. [ he leans forward on the couch, forearms resting on his knees. ] Things have taken a turn for the worse in Heaven, quite suddenly. The last remaining Archangel can't let go of the idea of restarting the Apocalypse, and things have escalated extremely quickly. For several reasons.

[ y'know, because the apocalypse possibly restarting isn't escalation enough or anything ]

The apocalypse... [ every 1.5 months that is, for homura ]

Civil war. [ he's clearly troubled by that. ] It's not a road I want to take, but I don't have much choice since it'll delay him from restarting it. Frankly, I'm fortunate that I'm even alive to take that path.

It's what I'm having to do behind that that's truly troubling me. [ he hesitates; he's still conflicted about the fact that he had to make a deal with Crowley in the first place, never mind what they agreed to do together. there's nothing about this situation he likes. there is part of him - the part of him that is the most human - that can't shake the feeling he should be ashamed. ] How much do you know about Purgatory?
